Dick together with his crew posted two ties to emerge victorious in the final event and the series closure of the Melges 32 Lauderdale Cup and the tri-event Melges Blue Water Series. This impressive feat was attained despite the presence of strong winds, which neared 15 knots. Speaking afterwards, DeVos seemed exuberant about the victory and attributed it to his dedicated team. He also stated his gratefulness for being given the opportunity to sail competitively.
Most notable was the electrifying sportsmanship of Morgan Kiss and Team Hydra. They are the 2016 Lauderdale Cup Corinthian Champion, which has seen them emerge overall series champions. Their coach Marty Kullman expressed his delight with his team and stated that they keep getting finer each day due to training and dedication. Dick’s Team Volpe received tough competition from Jason Carroll’s Team Argo but nonetheless, managed to hold on and register an impressive victory. The most energy sapping encounter was during the dying moments of Race Eight, which saw the twosome go neck to neck.

He joined the corporation and tirelessly worked his way up the management ladder to become its Vice President in 1984. DeVos’ task was the supervision of the firm’s setups in 18 countries spread across the globe. Under his watch, global sales surpassed domestic sales to account for half of the corporation’s profits.
Dick DeVos also had a 10-year spell as Amway’s President, during which he expanded operations to six continents and 50 nations. With corporate success, he began to explore ways through which he could empower other people to have a better life. With this in mind, he started the Dick and Betsy DeVos Family Foundation in 1989 to spur community-based empowerment.
